c.1580 Entire letter from George Boleyn, Dean of Lichfield "To the right worshipful and my very friend Sir Walter Aston Knight, you spede with these", warning of trouble if he fails to recapture the papist Francis Olyver, who
had been allowed to escape from prison due to his negligence or carelessness. Olyver was imprisoned due to his "eronious opinions and lewd dealings to pervert Her Highnesses loving subjects from the truth of religion now set forth by Her Highnesses

London. 1625 (Aug 25) Entire letter written in Italian, from Filippo Burlamacchi in London, to Lorenzo Segni and Francesco Medici in Florence, endorsed "franca p manta" (paid to Mantua). Lorenzo Segni was an executor for
Bartholomew Corsini. The "Corsini" correspondence contained six letters from London to Segni and his banking partner Francesco Medici, four of which were endorsed as Paid to Mantua. Fine and scarce. Photo on Page 18. (Image1)

Carlisle - Civil War Haste Post Haste Letter. 1644 (Apr 20) Entire letter from Sir Henry Stradling, Governor of Carlisle Castle, addressed "For his Mate Service, To my very honored Phillip Musgrave baronett, Commander in
Chief of Cumberland and West’d at Edenhall" and inscribed "Hast Hast Post Hast Hast, Carlisle 20th April at 2 in ye afternoon, Hen. Stradlinge". Some damp faults with repairs at upper corners, some losses to the internal letter, nevertheless a
very rare civil war period haste post haste letter, believed to be unique from Carlisle. Stradling joined Charles I after the surrender of Carlisle in 1645, and was captured at Rowton Heath later that year; he took part in royalist revolts in South

for the death of his Masters dog - "Sur this is to let you now that I have fached the bech from Conmer Greet and tied she up in the Corch hay stabele and when I went to see for she she was hanged outer the stale. She hanged her slefe sur I pray you

1747 (Oct 11) Entire letter from "Woodcuts" addressed "To Mr Michael Saunders at Harbridge, with an otter skin to be left at Mr Millers shopkeeper in Ringwood, Hants", from James Warne of Bovington, despatched with an otter skin by Brother Lexlys
wagon to Ringwood. Warne asks for the otter skin to be taken to Mr Chaters at Fordingbridge who is to dress it and make a pair of middling size gloves with the fur inward. An interesting letter.

for a sovereign, 1825 invitation from the Royal Company of Archers to enter the Goose Medal Competition (shooting at a live goose with only the head visible!), 1834 letter asking to be proposed for membership of the Thistle Golf Club, and 1839 letter
proposing a chess game by post once penny postage is introduced in January. (7).
