Real Photo postcards of Sir Arthur Young, Governor of the Straits Settlements, giving a speech of thanks to the Japanese sailors who helped suppress the mutiny by soldiers of the 5th Light Infantry. One card with an explanatory message on reverse, this card with one corner creased, otherwise fine. (2).

1343 1915 Kelantan Field Force. 1915 Real Photo postcard of Tumpat Pier, with pencil message on reverse "10.B Double Coy, Kelantan Field Force, Tumpat Pier. This is the place where we landed, all well, it is a very nice place, do not write to this address but to Singapore, Jack". 234 Men of the 4th Bn. KOSLI, the RGA and the SVI sailed to Pasir Puteh after a disturbance broke out over gambling; they arrived on May 5th, met little opposition and returned after ten days. The card sent under cover but very rare, only one other cover recorded from this force.
