1107 image1929 (Jan 3) Cover to India bearing Iraq 1½a and 3a cancelled boxed "IRAQ TO INDIA / By Light Aeroplane / with Vct. and Vctess / J. de Sibour", backstamped at Baghdad (Jan 3) and Karachi (Feb 5). The Iraq Post Office sanctioned an official mail of fifty covers for this flight which received the special cancel; these were flown to Basra where the aeroplane engine failed, the mail and aeroplane then being taken to Karachi by ship.
