Hans Bertram Germany to Australia flight, large unaddressed printed flight cover with "BERTRAM ATLANTIS / EXPEDITION" flight cachet, bearing stamps of all countries visited en route, comprising Germany (Berlin), Switzerland (Lugano), Italy (Venice), Greece (Athens), Syria (Alexandrette), Iraq (Baghdad), Persia (Bushire), India (Bombay), Ceylon (Colombo), Siam (Bangkok), Straits Settlements (Singapore), Netherlands Indies (Batavia) and Australia (Wyndham and Sydney). The flight left Darwin on May 19th but was blown off course and came down near Wyndham; they were not found until July 4th. Fine and scarce, 40 covers flown from Germany to Australia. E.232, $1,750.
