277 c.1830-2002 Covers, autographs and ephemera, including mourning envelope (QV monogram on flap) signed "The Queen" and addressed in her hand to Wales, hand delivered; front signed "Albert" and addressed in his hand to "Her Majesty Queen Adelaide"; 1908 registered cover to Lady O'Conor at the British Embassy, Constantinople, redirected to and within London with 2d charge mark and "Posted out of Course", enclosed letter from Grand Duchess Louise of Baden (only daughter of Kaiser Wilhelm I); 1946 cover with KGVI cypher cachet to Miss Catherine Black (nurse to KGV) with enclosed calendar signed by Queen Mary, and a 1942 signed Christmas card from Queen Mary to "dear Blackie"; pieces signed William IV or King George VI, etc. (23).

278 Prince Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh - World Tour. 1867-68 Covers franked 1d, to Dr William Symes R.N, Assistant Surgeon on H.M.S "Galatea", at Haslar Hospital, Gosport (29 Jan. 67), Plymouth (6 Feb. 67) or Devonport (3 Nov. 68). Symes accompanied Price Alfred on his world tour on H.M.S "Galatea", departing on 24th January 1867, the first two covers sent just after the departure of the ship, the final cover sent the day after the ship ran aground in Plymouth Sound. This was the first tour to the colonies by British royalty; whilst in Australia Prince Alfred was shot and wounded. (3).

279 1953 Royal Visit to Jamaica, cover to Canada, carried on the royal flight from London to Montego Bay, posted upon arrival (Nov 26) franked 3d + 4½d, signed by the Captain of "Canopus". Fine and scarce, very few covers carried.
