257 1875 4d Orange, stamp dated 5/5/75 on light blue envelope, cut to shape but unfolded, torn below the embossed value during the printing process, the stamp therefore handstamped "TO BE / TRANSFERRED", the envelope returned to the accounting office for a credit to be issued. Very scarce, all such stationery should have been destroyed by the Inland Revenue.

272 c.1860-1902 QV Envelopes unused (53) and used (72), including compound printings with two stamps (52, 34 used) or three stamps (4, all used), the three stamp printings comprising ½d + 3d + 6d (ESC 428), 1½d yellow + 2d lake + 6d (ESC 439), 2½d grey + 3d + 4d (ESC 452A) and 4d + 4d + 1½d yellow (ESC 460, 1½d below the two 4d stamps), also very scarce 1½d yellow + 1/- used (ES 223, not recorded used), etc. A fine collection with some scarce envelopes and unusual destinations. 273 1889-1902 Long foolscap size envelopes all addressed abroad, nine compound printings with two stamps (7) or three stamps (2) including 1½d + 1d (ESC 210) to Grenada franked 2½d and 5d, 1½d + 3d + 4d (ESC 441A) franked ½d + 1d and a 6d envelope (ES 26) franked 5d + KEVII 6d strip of four both to New York, the other seven all to Canada comprising 2½d + 10d (ESC 267) franked 2½d and 10d, 1/- + 1/- (ESC 87) franked 2d and 9d, 10d + 1/- (ESC 172) franked 3d, 10d + 10d (ESC 171), 6d + 1/- + 1/- (ESC 406) franked 2½d, 1d + 1/- (ESC 31) franked 1d and 6d, and 4d + 10d (ESC 303) franked 6d, the last unpriced by Huggins/Baker and very scarce. A good lot, some very unusual high frankings. (10).

274 T.P.Os. 1930-86 Covers (481, virtually all pre 1971) mounted in three F.G albums and loose, mainly very fine strikes, many philatelic though some are commercial, about one third with "Posted Without Late Fee" handstamps, also registered mail with T.P.O datestamps applied to the registration labels (50), first and last day services, a few bundle labels, C.O.Ps and pieces.
