1681 R.P.D "Konig Albert"/"Kaiser". 1914 (Feb 3/6) Picture postcards, one to Germany franked 1d with return address of the "Konig Albert", another to Germany franked ½d + 1d, a third card addressed to a crew member on S.M.S "Kaiser" franked ½d. The German naval ships "Kaiser", "Konig Albert" and "Strassburg" called at St. Helena en route from South West Africa to Brazil. An unusual group. (3).

1684 image1901 (Sep 23) Formula registration envelope size H2 printed in blue, insured to London, 2/2½ paid by 1884-94 1d (2) + 1/- (2) and 1896 1d, all with cork cancels (Proud K101), red "INSURED / (VALEUR DECLAREE)" label, circular violet "CENSOR / PRISONERS OF WAR" initialled "P.R" by P. Roux (later than recorded by Mabbett), St Helena and London datestamps. Vertical fold and a little shortened at right but an exceptional P.O.W cover, the earliest recorded insured cover from St. Helena and probably the earliest use of a formula registration envelope.
