Horizontal strip of seven, mostly large to full margins, just touching the frameline at bottom, rich color, tied by light bar cancels on 1855 folded letter to New York, "Livorno Leg 14 1855" circular datestamp, "Paris a Calais 19 Jul 55" backstamp, "Boston Br. Pkt. 5 Aug 2" circular datestamp, ms. "via Inglaterra", filed folds between first and second stamp and through sixth stamp

VERY FINE APPEARANCE. AN IMMENSELY RARE STRIP OF SEVEN OF THE 1851 4-CRAZIE GREEN ON COVER.

Any strip larger than five, whether on or off cover, is enormously rare.

This cover was discovered in an old estate and likely has not been on the market in many decades, if at all (Image)
