Aug. 4" manuscript postmark on Beardless Lincoln Railsplitter campaign cover with Hamlin's name crossed out and "Johnson" written in, to Palatine Bridge N.Y., few perf flaws including pulled perf at top, some soiling and wear, still Fine and very unusual, the cover was made for Lincoln's first campaign but evidently used during the 1864 campaign when the Vice Presidential candidate had changed (Image)

Anderson 1861" in ribbon Patriotic cover to Zeeland Mich., cover torn, toned spot affects stamp, otherwise Fine, an unusual design which draws attention to the 1832-33 Nullification Crisis where South Carolina "nullified" a federal tax and prepared their military to potentially resist federal troops, on March 3, 1833 Congress passed the Force Bill authorizing President Jackson to use force but the crisis was legislatively averted (Image)
