EXTREMELY FINE. A BEAUTIFUL AND RARE UNUSED EXAMPLE OF THE $500.00 "SERIES 1953" ISSUE.
Ex "Scarsdale". With 2002 P.F. certificate (Image)
VERY FINE AND CHOICE. AN EXCEEDINGLY RARE EXAMPLE OF THE $5,000.00 "SERIES 1953" REVENUE ISSUE CANCELLED SOLELY BY A HANDSTAMP. WE ARE AWARE OF ONLY ONE OTHER CANCELLED IN THIS MANNER. A GREAT RARITY.
This issue is almost always seen with perf initials or cut cancels. We are aware of only one other that does not have cut cancels, perf initials or staple holes (serial no. 174, ex Fleischman, perfs almost touch at top and light corner crease at top left).
Ex Lyons. With 1999 P.S.E. certificate (Image)
EXTREMELY FINE. A BEAUTIFUL AND RARE EXAMPLE OF THE $10,000.00 "SERIES 1953" DOCUMENTARY ISSUE, CANCELLED SOLELY BY A MANUSCRIPT MARKING. A GREAT RARITY.
The higher the denomination, the more likely the stamp is to be cancelled by a device designed to prevent its reuse, such as perf initials or a cut cancel. We are aware of two others similarly cancelled -- serial nos. 339 and 340 -- which were used on the same day and bear the same signature as the example offered here. It is interesting to note that, based on the straight edges, the stamp offered here comes from a different sheet than the other two.
Ex Handy and Floyd. With 2000 P.F. certificate (Image)
VERY FINE. A DESIRABLE EXAMPLE OF THE $10,000.00 "SERIES 1954" DOCUMENTARY ISSUE WITH A CLEAR YEARDATE CANCELLATION MATCHING THE YEAR OF ISSUE.
