VERY FINE. AN OUTSTANDING QUALITY STRIP OF THE 1862 5-CENT RED BROWN ON COVER TO FRANCE.
We searched our records and found very few strips of the 5c Red Brown on cover, and only one or two others comparable to the quality of this strip.
Ex White and Chase. According to a note on back, acquired from Weill in June 1965 for 2,400 Swiss francs (approximately $550). (Image)
FINE-VERY FINE. A RARE UNUSED MULTIPLE OF THE 1866 15-CENT LINCOLN ISSUE IN AN EXTRAORDINARY STATE OF FRESHNESS.
The 15c 1866 is very rare in original-gum condition, and if this multiple still retained its gum, the Scott value would be $20,000.00, and the righthand stamp might well be worth $15,000 alone. Without gum, the strip will hopefully be acquired and kept intact by a collector who appreciates its philatelic rarity.
Scott Retail as four unused (no gum) singles (Image)
VERY FINE. AN OUTSTANDING "ALL BLACK" FRANKING WITH THE 1866 15-CENT LINCOLN AND THE 1868 2-CENT BLACK JACK E GRILL, PAYING THE 34-CENT RATE TO CHILE BY BRITISH MAIL VIA PANAMA.
The Raymond Vogel collection sold by our firm contained 12c and 15c 1866-68 Issue covers to Brazil, Peru and Uruguay, but not one cover to Chile. Using Power Search we located a few 1861-68 Issue covers to Chile, but this franking with the 15c Lincoln is the only one of its kind we have located (Image)
