GREAT BRITAIN, 1840, 1p Black, 2p Blue (1, 2; SG 2,
5). 1p plate 1a, lettered M-G, 2p plate 1, lettered S-D, both tied by red Maltese Cross cancels on an uprated 1p Mulready letter sheet (displaced Stereo A65), from Liverpool (29.5.40 backstamp) to London, cover soiled and with strengthened
filed folds, stamps each with small repair at bottom FINE APPEARANCE. AN EXCEPTIONALLY RARE MULREADY UPRATED WITH BOTH THE 1840 1-PENNY AND 2-PENCE STAMPS. Despite the faults, this a presentable and collectable cover, as only a tiny number
of such frankings exist. Our estimate is but a fraction of what a sound example of this postal history rarity would command. With 2014 B.P.A. certificate.
