(1862) circular datestamp on cover to Winona Miss., Very Fine and extremely late use one day before Farragut anchored in front of the city, only a few days later New Orleans was occupied and the Louisiana state flag was removed from City Hall by Farragut and and his marines on April 29 (Image)

Jun. 30" (1862) circular datestamp on small buff cover to Lynchburg Va., central file fold, Very Fine, scarce use on last day of the 5c rate, from June 1, 1861 to June 30, 1862, the rate was 5c for distances under 500 miles and 10c for distances over 500 miles, after June 30, 1862, this was changed to a flat rate of 10c irrespective of distance, Weill backstamp (Image)
