A historically fascinating and unique postal history exhibit outlining in detail the countries nuclear weapons development from the 1929 Canal Project in Nicaragua through the Hydrogen Bomb cooperation with England in the late 1950's, all through the eyes of K. D. Nichols who spearheaded most of the development. The 80 page exhibit begins with the Canal Project, the precursor for the Atomic bomb, and follows Nichol's career through West Point, to the Manhattan Project, where he served in a vital capacity, this section containing rare, censored covers including examples from Los Alamos, Oak Ridge Tenn, and of course Manhattan, where the project originated. Following this are examples from Trinity Test, Operation Crossroads, Bikini Able and Baker tests, and post-war Armed Forces Special Weapons Project (AFSWP) etc. Many Nichols letters are present, along with a rare and spectacular range of covers illustrating the events.
