1122       image(Clackamas) Oswego, Oregon, Apr. 23rd. Manuscript postmark (Whittlesey 1 but statehood use) on cover with 1861 3¢ rose cancelled by pen strokes and just tied by the postmark, to Lewiston Washington T'y. so likely an 1863 use since Lewiston did not have a Post Office until later in 1862 and Idaho Territory was created in 1863, a trifle reduced at right, light stains, F.-V.F.

Balloon cds (Whittlesey 3, R A) and handstamped "Paid 6" in circle rate marking on cover to Norwich New York where marked "Due 4" in blue pen as apparently sent in 1855 just after the transcontinental rate was increased, subsequently forwarded to Cuba New York with Norwich transit postmark and "Forwarded" straight line handstamp and manuscript "3" due along with "Due 7" in total, slightly reduced at left, minor corner wear at right, Very Fine, nice combination of three different rates.
