Worldwide Public Auction - December 6, 2018

Auction 347 has 3,872 lots, catering for all types of collectors & dealers - from bulk accumulations and intact collections to desirable single items. This auction offers a huge range of material, with special emphasis on lotting stamps to cater for collectors with varying types of interests and budgets. Items range from $30 to $50,000 so there's something for everybody.

This auction offers strong representation of Australia & Colonies, strong British Empire material of all areas & periods, as well as General Foreign including small and large collections. There are almost 300 lots of Australian Collections (Lots 71-365) and over 400 lots of World collections (Lots 366-785).

Following on there is well over 1000 lots of Australia which consist of singles, sets and covers including Australian colonies (Lots 824-1870). The Australian lots cover all periods, from the Kangaroo issues up to Decimal and contains numerous number of mint & used £1 & £2 top values - this includes a First Watermark £2 Black & rose. VF fresh MUH, with pristine never hinged original gum, nice deep colours. SG 16 cat £6500 for M, should be triple £19,500 MUH. ACSC 55A cat $35,000. The key Kangaroo stamp & major rarity in genuine MUH condition. 1982 Sorani photo-cert.(Lot 879).

There are almost 2,000 lots of World stamps, covers and single country collections (Lots 1871-3843) with the British Empire well represented, highlighted by a 1938-49 KGVI 100R dull purple & ultramarine 'REVENUE REVENUE' being a continuation of the Postage & Postal fiscal set SG 386-97 & F1 & equivalent to the KGV 'Postage & Revenue' high values. Superb fresh MLH, bottom marginal with pristine original gum & perfect bright colours. Bft 12. Great rarity in mint condition being 1 of 2 examples recorded of any printing & unique in this shade.(Lot 2203). Numerous other European and Asian rarities Including PRC China.
