Mail Sale - January 9, 2019

Sam Houston Philatelics next auction will close on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 1:00 PM, Central Time. The sale contains 673 lots, with material in all price ranges and something for everyone, collectors and dealers alike. A few of the highlights include the following:
  • UNITED STATES, There are about (200) lots, with about 17 Classics and Banknotes including a NH #208a, about (30) Columbian's & early Commemoratives with nice copies of $1.00 Columbia and $1.00 & $2.00 Trans-Mississippis. There are about (70) Washington-Franklins and period Commemoratives with several scarce coil pairs and line pairs (#445,453,&456). There are about (25) 1920 Commemorative and Kansas/Nebraska Overprints; and about (50) 1930 to Date with a nice selection of over (40) graded issues, including a few GEM 100.

  • COVERS, a nice selection of about (40) lots of Commercial & FDC covers.

  • AIRMAIL & BACK OF BOOK ISSUES, contains about (125) lots of Airmails and BOB lots, with a set of Zeppelins to consider; including a beautiful graded C14. Other BOB items include a nice selection of Revenue stamps and Proofs.

  • ERRORS, FREAKS & ODDITIES, about (12) lots with interesting selections of color varieties and shifts, perforation faults and other types of EFO's with a nice copy of 3942d - the strip of (4) with die-cutting omitted error.

  • GENERAL FOREIGN & COLLECTIONS, over (50) lots with a variety of countries, includes nice Russia items and scarce early Nova Scotia imperforates.

  • AUTOGRAPHS & MISCELLANEOUS, a few lots of stamp Remarques, Columbian Exposition ticket and a Ralph Yarborough autograph .

  • DUCK STAMPS AND CONSERVATION STAMPS (Federal, Junior & State) contains about (230) lots with (40) PNS's, and (40) Federal singles, Mini-sheets (6), Press Sheets (10), Artist Signed (30) and Remarqued stamps (12) and about (48) State, including Governor's Editions with scarce Wisconsin 15, Fish & Conservation lots; as well as a few Duck EFO's (5) to review.
