A very clean collection which we have left intact, as received, neatly displayed on quadrille pages with catalogue numbers for each stamp. Starts with a used #1 and two #4 (all cut into), then complete 1859s with shades, the numerous Large Queens have paper varieties and shades plus some watermarks, a Laid Paper 3c (faulty and not counted), Small Queens are extensive with shades, and includes many early printings, especially for the 1c, 3c and 10c, some 11½x12 perfs, a few mint stamps including three #43, a 3c shows a dramatic misperforation, some nice postmarks, etc. Up to here the majority are used plus a few mint or unused. The Jubilees, which are mint only go to the $1 (latter is unused no gum, rest include some NH), then we start to see a used plus a mint (sometimes NH) of every issue to the end, and is complete including coil singles, and includes some varieties such as "broken X", etc. The back of the book is complete for Air Mails and Special Delivery, and are all mint. Obvious faulty or reperforated stamps were not counted in the catalogue value, and we have noted them in pencil with an X. We have also noted which stamps were NH and have counted them as such. No Jubilees. Some issues have no gum (for example, an otherwise nice appearing Québec set is without gum), and some of the high values (for example 50c KEVII is used). Some of the high values from the 1920s and on are lightly hinged (50c Bluenose, $1 Parliament, etc.). We have counted as all hinged but there are probably a few never hinged here and there. Catalogue value is for up to 1950 only and includes G Officials, and other back of the book. This is an advanced collection, and the collector took great care to obtain the best postmarks and quality possible, especially in the semi-modern to modern era.
