CHINA, A box stuffed full of Chinese issues ordered by Scott number in glassines. Regular issues begin with #111, running in a hit or miss fashion up through #978; airmails from C6 to C61; postage due from J59 to J114. Taiwan overprints range
from #14 to #88. Some packets hold occupation issues including Meng Chiang, Hopei, North China, and Shanghai & Nanking. Then there are issues from the Northeastern Provinces, Manchuria, Sinkiang, and Szechwan. Most envelopes contain many copies
of each issue, some mint, some used, some in large multiples. Comb through them all and you will find paper varieties, cancels, and some marginal markings. |
