721 ogObl S.G. #21/46 S.G. #21/46 Palestine overprint study of some of the more unusual and scarce perforations and settings, mostly on specially written up pages, includes a mint 1P Deep indigo Jerusalem I, second setting of the upper and lower panes of 120 stamps each (some separation and hinge reinforcement), a study of Jerusalem I, second setting with eight used of the nine first setting types that were inadvertently inserted in the 5th row of the 5m, the only way the are able to be identified as second setting is because they are perf. 14 which was not used in the first setting, also the scarce Jerusalem II, perf. 14 cplt. used (S.G. #38-43), and a mostly used accumulation of 48 of the three values of the narrow setting (S.G. #44-46) showing all six types, mint have o.g. with some n.h. in the panes, a few faults are present but the vast majority are fine-very fine with some very scarce stamps present, catalog value is just over $4,500 and £4,500 respectively in Scott and Stanley Gibbons. 722 ogO 21 var./62a var. #21var./62a var. 1920-22 Overprint major variety collection of 32 mostly used items including three pairs, includes better varieties from Jerusalem I, first setting I as three different stamps from withdrawn type 13, four different values with withdrawn type 23a and a 2P with Hebrew characters transposed (S.G. #22c), also 2P and 20P with Arabic "z" (S.G. #22b, 26b), in Jerusalem II there are several example each of the 2m and 5m with missing portions of overprints in each of the three language portions of the overprint, three values with a "Palestino" error, and four varieties from the London printings including a 10P "E.F.F." error of the basic stamp, eight of the items are mint with o.g., the rest are used, faults if present are very minor, fine-very fine; a marvelous collection of elusive varieties for the Palestine specialist; accompanied by 24 certificates of David Dorfman, Geo. H. Muentz and Jacques Kaufmann for 22 of the items (S.G. #22 var./88a). Est. $1,500-2,000

723 Oc 43/77 #43/77, "A.P.C." perforated initial collection of The Anglo-Palestine Co. Ltd., this perfin control was used by this company starting with the 2P Olive green of the London I Somerset overprint (the only value using this control), seven used examples showing four different orientations of the perf., then a similar collection of 42 used of the London II Waterlow and Sons printing with values from the1m-13m values showing eight different orientations including reading up and down and both inverted as well as those four transposed (perforated from the back), finally over four hundred stamps in various orientations including multiples of the last 1927 Pictorials from the 2m to 20m values including one corner-card cover of the company, related is Jewish National Fund cover with imprint on reverse with 15pf Germania with Zionist Star of David perfin as well as a used single of the same, overall fine-very fine; interesting and scarce material. 724 ogO 48-62 #48-62, 1922 1m-20P London II Waterlow & Sons overprinted issue plate reconstruction, two volumes of plate A with all values represented and an additional volume of plate B with eight different values up to the 2P Olive green, in both plates some of the values are complete for all 240 positions, the key 9P Bister has 131 different positions and the 20P Violet high value has180 different positions, literally thousands of stamps in all, nearly all used with a few mint interspersed, overall fine-very fine; a wonderful study and reference that would be difficult to duplicate and yet has room to expand upon (S.G. #71/88). 726 og/nh Obl 48-62 #48-62, 1922 1m-20P London II Waterlow & Sons overprinted issue specialized collection of overprint varieties of plate "A", a huge study on handmade pages with several thousand stamps present, each page shows the variety position and has different values of the set showing it, there are over 1,600 hundred items mint and used in singles, pairs,strips and blocks up to blocks of 24, even fifteen covers and cards are present, includes examples of almost all the listed varieties in specialized listings as well as some unlisted varieties, also includes two pieces of thick white paper with two strikes and a partial third strike of working trial printings of the overprint with ink fingerprints of the workmen, condition is clean and attractive, o.g. or used, many n.h. found in the multiples, fine-very fine; a wonderful collection of the varieties of the Waterlow & Sons printings that needs to be viewed to be appreciated (S.G. #71/88). 731 c   Registration label extensive collection of well over 400 loose and on piece labels plus over 125 registered covers on pages and in stockbooks, consists of the cities, towns and postal agencies of the Palestine Mandate ranging from Acre to Zikron Ya'aquo, a large number are from the larger post offices of Jerusalem, Haifa and Tel-Aviv with the various office numbers and branches, in addition to the registration labels there are 17 air mail package slips that are put on packets of air mail covers to help in the sorting, a complete Air Mail label booklet and two Saving Stamp booklets in small and large format, condition varies but much is fine-very fine and interesting auxiliary material to the postal history of Palestine. 732 ogOSc   Palestine postal stationery collection on pages in two Lindner albums, over 125 items collected mint and used as well as 16 with "Specimen" overprints, this latter includes the two cards and one letter-card that were the first designs that were not issued and only exist as Specimens because they only had English text, the other 13 are of issued designs, included in the postal cards is a a rare first issued 4m Deep pink mint example that took the London printed unissued English design and added the Hebrew and Arabic text in Jerusalem, though it is very similar to later cards that printed all the text at one time it can be distinguished and very few exist, there are some outer wrappers for various post card issues, in the wrappers there are two mint post office packets of ten of the two different values with outer packet wrappers, also includes mint and used sections of letter-cards and air letter sheets, there are no registry envelopes but includes one British formular registry envelope with Jerusalem III overprinted franking (scarce), a few faults are present but the vast majority are fine-very fine; a nice collection with some very desirable and scarce items. 733 POc   Palestine eclectic balance of collection, widely diverse material for the specialist including such things as "Jerusalem Postage Paid" specimen and proof strikes of these markings plus two covers, nine different enlarged artist's Mock-ups of meter franks with different mil values pasted over the basic design, a couple of dummy booklets of the Pictorial issue that have the covers and the interleaving with postal instructions and advertising but with no stamps, probably provided to the advertisers for their approval (Bale #7, 12), a collection on pages with 38 items showing variety types and printing errors found on stamps, cancels and post office forms, we also note a page with eight stamps and one cover and PLO/Palestine Authority propaganda facsimile stamps of the Pictorial issue with French overprint fifteen different values in matching sheets of 25, condition overall is fine-very fine; examine. 734 Oc   1918-47 Palestine postal history lot consisting of over 160 covers, a large portion are covers with military post office cancels, we note a number of British Forces registry postal entires and includes covers of Australian Forces in Palestine, other covers are with the various types of "Paid" cancels and meter paid covers, some are quite scarce with early usages, also a group of 17 covers with religious cachets, etc., normal postal wear is to be expected on the military usages with some faults present, overall fine-very fine; an interesting lot and examination will reveal some scarce and desirable items.
