The steamer "Hermann" of the OSNC could not sail on schedule due to repairs and so the U.S. postmaster concluded a one-time trip contract with the Belgian steamer "Constitution" of the "S.A. Societe Belge des Bateaux a Vapeur Transatlantiques", which was signed on Jan. 24, 1857. About 8000 letters for Bremen via Antwerp at the expense of OSNC were carried.
