image SOUTH GEORGIA: 1932 philatelic cover endorsed "Per ss Discovery II" to Melbourne with Victorian 1d x5 tied by light strikes of the 'SOUTH GEORGIA/19DE/32/ + ' cds, uncancelled Falklands 1d on the flap with a poorly struck 'FALKLAND ISLANDS GOVERNMENT/[crown]/SHIP DISCOVERY II' oval caceht alongside, arrival cds of 13MR33, peripheral wear & some light toning. [The route endorsement at U/L states that the cover was sent from Australia across the Pacific, around Cape Horn & posted back to sender from South Georgia. Wikipedia states that 'Discovery II' made visits to Australia (probably Melbourne) between October 1932 & May 1933, suggesting that this cover was carried on the ship Melbourne-South Georgia-Melbourne]
