WAR OF THE AUSTRIAN SUCCESSION (GERMAN STATES) - CAMPAIGN LETTER FROM INFANTRY CAPTAIN; Fine 6 July 1745 EL to Paris from a French Officer "At Camp near Mainz" (not far from Frankfurt) with a fine rare "ARM: DU RHIN" mark on the front, rated '12' sols (the special military concessionary single rate from forces "beyond the Rhine" to Paris) and with relevant contents (fully typed transcription and translation included) incl. "...we were all on the move until yesterday. We arrived near Mainz and not far from enemies, because their Hussars [cavalry] harass us from all sides... 1904-05 THE RUSSO-JAPANESE WAR - A POSTCARD COLLECTION: Unused (51) and used (47) postcards related to the Russo-Japanese war, inc. some battle scenes and propaganda types. A few have special cancellations. Also 1906 cards (8) depicting Japan & Russian scenes, all used from Vladivostok to London franked with Russian 4k adhesives cancelled in 1906 at the end of the war.
