1849-51 Transitional Period Geneva (Genf; formerly attributed to Vaud) 1849 4c grey-black & red Posthorn Mi 1 (SG L1), expertly repaired with margins good to large, very fine rosette cancel in red, Cat €19,000 (£25,000). A very attractive example of this rarity that has thematic appeal for collectors of Postmen or Music. Pascal Scheller Certificate (2010) as Yvert No 5.
1850-51 'POSTE LOCALE' 2½r black & red with No Outline to the Cross Mi 6ii (SG 4), professionally repaired with margins good to large & outer framelines except at the top, still with small defects, bars cancel in black, Cat €22,000 (£30,000). Pascal Scheller Certificate (2010) as Yvert No 12.
