1861 Life Insurance ½d rose/buff imperforate Barefoot 12, lower marginal example with the other margins good to wide, minor paper inclusion, hinge remainder & a couple of tiny spots of gum loss.
1864 Imperforate Embossed Crowns complete set 1d to 20/- used including 6d with Small Letters of Value & with Large Letters of Value both with 'PORT ELIZABETH BANK' 1865 d/s, all with full margins except the 10/- (top) & 20/- (top & bottom) slightly touching, plus 1d brown * with full gum (minor adhesions) and 6d blue Large Letters * with part og, a few with minor blemishes.

1865 QV Lilacs Crown CC Wmk all-different Perf 15½ selection noted ½d pair with red cds (minor perf faults) & £20 with very fine partial 'STAMP O[FFICE]/CAPETO[WN' oval cancel, the others with neat manuscript cancels including 7/6d x2 (one Very Thin Paper), 12/6d, 15/-, £4, £5 & £10 (minor faults), a couple on piece, also 1d * x2 one with Watermark Reversed (and Misplaced) and 5/- unused (no gum; minor crease), plus Perf 12½ 12/6d & £1/10/- used, mostly fine to very fine.

1873 QV Fugitive Ink Crown CC Wmk all-different group including Perf 15½ £1/10/-, £2/10/-, £3 & £5 together on one piece (with an 1876 5/-) and £10, plus Perf 12½ £1, £1/10/-, £2 on piece with superb Cape Town 'REGISTRAR OF DEEDS' cancel and £3 on piece, other cancels include 'STANDARD BANK/PANMURE' plus some manuscripts, most with original colours but some a little faded, condition otherwise generally fine to very fine.

1876 QV New Colours Crown CC Wmk range including 3/- blue, 7/- grey, £1 brown/orange x18 (two pairs), £1 violet/orange x5, £5 red-brown/turqoise & £6 blue/green, most appear to be Perf 14 issues but definitely some Perf 15½ amongst them, also a page of 1885 Anchor Wmk issues noted 7/6d * and 12/- orange-brown ** & used x2, condition a little mixed but generally fine to very fine.

1898 Standing Hope group comprising 1d x13 including a pair with superb 'SOUTH AFRICAN MUTUAL/14NOV1900/LIFE ASSURANCE SOCIETY' d/s, 3d, 6d x2, 1/- x7, 2/- x3, 2/6d * (corner fault), 3/- x3, 5/- pair, 7/6d x2, 10/- x2, £1 x2, £2 x2, £4 (thinned) & £5 x3 (one faded), some with minor blemishes but generally fine to very fine.

1898 Standing Hope £4 green & black Barefoot 141, very fine used with 'DEEDS REGISTRY/21OC09/CAPE-TOWN' crowned oval datestamp and manuscript initials, Cat £100 (2012).
DOCUMENTS: 1828 Impressed Newspaper Duty 'CAPE OF GOOD HOPE/[crown & floral ornament]/ONE/PENNY' in red at U/R on the front page of the complete Government Gazette of 'Friday 7th March 1828', four separate sheets where removed from a bound volume (so originally two broadsheet pages), some aging marks. Each page is presented in two columns of English & Dutch; interesting contents include 'Sale of Newlands' announcing the sale of five lots of land between the High Road and the Liesbeek River. [The Cape Ordinance No.26 of 1826 imposed a tax of 1d per sheet on newspapers; perhaps the Government received a concessional rate?]
DOCUMENTS: 1832 Quitrent Receipt pre-printed for use at Stellenbosch acknowledging payment of £12/1/6d with Colourless Embossed Revenues 9d impressed on a separate piece of paper and affixed at top, manuscript cancel, minor folds & aging marks, slightly trimmed at base.
DOCUMENTS: 1836 Quitrent Receipt partly pre-printed form used at Graaf Reinert acknowledging payment of £4/15/9d with Colourless Embossed Revenues 18d & 6/- impressed at top (both with very fine deep embossing), not cancelled, minor folds & aging marks, slightly trimmed at edges.
DOCUMENTS: 1843 Quitrent Receipt wholly hand-written acknowledging payment of £1/12/6d with Colourless Embossed Revenues 18d and 3/- impressed into the document plus another 3/- value impressed on separate paper - with noticeably greater depth to the embossing - and affixed alongside, manuscript cancel, minor folds including vertically through the separate value.
DOCUMENTS: 1843 Quitrent Receipt pre-printed for use at Stellenbosch crossed out and used at "Paarl" acknowledging payment of 13/6d with Colourless Embossed Revenues 3d and 2/- impressed on a separate piece of paper and affixed at top, manuscript cancel, minor folds including vertically through the 2/- value, slightly trimmed at base.
