[BOAC Flight 781 suffered metal fatigue at altitude which caused an explosive decompression. The plane crashed into the sea off the Italian island of Elba. All 35 on board were killed]

BAHAWALPUR: Black/buff 'Indian Posts and Telegraphs Department/DEFENCE SAVING/CARD' completed (10r value) with 'SAVE FOR/INDIA'S/DEFENCE' stamps on Pink Paper 4a carmine x2, 8a ultramarine x3 & 1r violet x8 including a pair all tied by 'KHANPUR/ TEL /28APR43/BAHAWALPUR' telegraphs cds, the card endorsed "Cancelled" in red, small spike-hole & corner damage both well clear of the stamps. [The only such card we have seen: usage in Bahawalpur must be rare. Text on the face states these were the only denominations issued]
