(Qty 9)
1939 Bulolo Airs 5/- Panelli forgery, excellent centring, Sanabria h/s on reverse (perhaps guaranteeing that it's a forgery!?). Much scarcer than the similar £1 £2 & £5: possibly the first example we have handled.
POSTAL HISTORY: 1932 Iremonger cover with Dated Birds 6d tied by one of two very fine strikes of 'GASMATA/24MR32/NEW GUINEA' cds in violet, superb 'R GASMATA' cachet also in violet, transit b/s of Sydney & Adelaide (!; very curious).
POSTAL HISTORY: 1932 Iremonger cover with Dated Birds 1/- tied by scarce 'MARIENBERG/20MY32/NEW GUINEA' cds, very worn 'R MARIENBERG' cachet, some minor staining at the top.
POSTAL HISTORY: 1934 Baldwin cover to Sydney with Undated Airs ½d 1d x2 & 1½d tied by 'NAMATANAI/31AU34/NEW GUINEA' cds, vertical fold at left clear of the stamps. At this time there was a special 4d rate for airmail between Port Moresby to Rabaul: examples from New Guinea are very scarce.
POSTAL HISTORY: 1935 & 1937 philatelic covers with Undated Birds 2d & 3d or 3½d block of 4 (a very scarce multiple, Cat £116+ for singles) with 'KIETA/NEW GUINEA' cds.
(Qty 2 covers)
POSTAL HISTORY: 1937 philatelic cover to NSW with Coronation 2d tied by superb strike of the huge 'PAQUEBOT' h/s in violet with 'TULAGI/20SP37/BRITISH SOLOMON IDS' cds alongside.
POSTAL HISTORY: 1932 Iremonger cover to GB with three very fine strikes - one on the reverse - of the impressive 38mm 'POST OFFICE/1JUL1932/KIETA' cds; plus three other philatelic covers.
