1927, an old 16v SHS Slovenia COD parcel card with "Chainbreakers" issue, the card was uprated by the Post Office prior to use to make up the correct new price of the parcel card (originally showing the old SHS format), accompanying a parcel of 4 kg., COD value 266D, to an address in village near OBRENOVAC, additional charges worked out as 13.50D (weight -2nd band: 10D, COD - 4th band: 3D and Avis: 0.50D, tariff from 01.11.26-30.09.27) and paid with 5D brown (SG 202) of "De La Rue" definitives, 50(p) sepia (SG 210) and 8D grey-brown (SG 206) of 1926 King Alexander definitives, tied by three "UZDIN"; 23.V.27", with "UZDIN/832" parcel label and orange triangular "REMBOURSEMENT" label alongside, at back "OBRENOVAC. OBRENOVATZ, 25.5.27" arrival and similar distributing PM (28.5.27) when parcel was paid for and collected. Lovely "mixed" franking and very late usage of an old "transitional period" form. (Image)

Artist's Work: 5D, two pencil draqings on white carton paper (97x118 mm & 93 x 115 mm respectively, each with approx. 4 mm frame), mounted on grey-brown, soft carton (106 x 218 mm). Both design inscribed "JUGOSLAVIJA" (Roman and Cyrillic characters). The first design depicts the "Kolo" (National Dance with all the girls wearing regional costumes). The second design depicts a Dalmatian girl, carrying a basket of fruit on her head, with a donkey beside her, several costal trees (pine and Cypress) and the Adriatic in the background. Artist's Works: 1D & 5D, both drawn in pencil of soft, off-white carton paper (87x165 mm & 76 x 116mm respecitvely), mounted on grey carton paper (160x218 mm). 1 D design is very ideological, depicting the "Communist Plan, Hammer and Sickle", inscribed "JUGOSLAVIJA" (in Cyrillic and Roman characters). The design for 5D value is more practical, depicting "Map of Yugoslavia with High-Voltage Power lines" and with "JUGOSLAVIJA" (Roman and Cyrillic) curved around base of design.
