1919. ESSAYS. 5 different drawings, two signed "Micek", all in black on white, chalky, thick paper, inspired by "Freedom for Croatia" of 1918 and "allegory of Freedom" (1919) series, inscibed "DRZAVNA POSTA" but without name of "HRVATSKA", with each design changed into a caricature of the original idea. The value of 1 K shows the "Falcon" ar for the "Allegory of Freedom" design, depicted eating the two headed eagel. Seldom seen. (Image)

Lovely group of five PHOTOGRAPHIC ESSAYS (bromide) for values of 1 D (Airplane above Adriatic), 2 D (Alps with Skiers and Grand Ski Jump Arena, Plenica), 5D (Map of Yugoslavia with YU Civilian Aircraft) 10D (Happy Holidaymakers) and 12D (Waterfall with Shepherdess and Sheep). Values of 2D, 5D and 10D with lighter and darker shades. Very fine and seldom seen. N.B. The designer, Emil Vivic was a partisan artist, several of his drawings were used in the early post-war period. (Image)

1949/1950. ESSAYS for "Professions" definitives. Photographic essays prepared by the prominent partisan artist Emil Vicic, black/white design, 20 x 26.5 mm, group of seven depicting various professions ("Bricklayer" to "Fisherman"). The defintives of 1950 were based on the work of P. Gravaniac, hoever E. Vicic'S designs were adopted for other series in 1947 and 1948. Only a handful of these essays are recorded. Very scarce.
