image 1941 (Feb) large airmail cover (230x155mm) to Australia with 9d & 1/- x13 (including block of eleven; one single torn) tied by 'PORT LAIRGE/24 II/41' cds, 'RECEIVED TORN AT/GPO MELBOURNE' boxed h/s applied on face, some faults as to be expected. The rate was 1/3d per ½oz x11 for carriage by the Imperial Airways/QANTAS 'Horseshoe Route' service by ship to South Africa and onwards by airmail.
