ALBUM WITH THE 1916-70 MINT & USED COLLECTION: Excellent basic collection. Includes KGV 1d red on piece cancelled with 'emergency' undated "DUBLIN" mark used during the 1916 'Easter Rising' and group of KGV ½d & 1½d values on piece cancelled FPO 41 dated 1922. Provisional Govt. opt. sets to 10/- mint & to 5/- used. (H.V.s are SG 18/21), 1922-23 Irish Free State overprint sets mint and used, both sets to 10/- (2/6d mint is toned) SG 52/66 £1,000. Also present are printed 'proofs' of the overprint on cream/manilla paper plus a 'proof' of the defaced block. 1942-45 2/6d, 5/- & 10/- unmounted mint (mounted on selvedge only), 1925-70 Postage Due sets ½d to 1/- both mint & used, then apparently complete for basic issues, in both mint & used sets, to 1970. 1921 'TRANSITION PERIOD' MILITARY MAIL - VERY RARE FPO CANCEL: 23 Aug. 1921 env. to Torquay bearing KGV 2d orange (SG 369) cancelled by very fine FPO 7 c.d.s. in violet, adjacent to Buttevant, Co. Cork double ring c.d.s. also dated 23 Aug. 1921. The FPO 7 cancel is possibly one of only 2 known on cover (both to same address on same day).
