Cover sent stampless to ALEXANDRIA at double weight (mss. ´2 ports´ at left), taxed on arrival in Alexandria by France Postage Due 50c. lilac pair (one defective on application (Dec 25). Cover then sent to PORT SAID (Dec 30) and eventually sent back to ANNONAY where rare Postage Due 1fr. brown-claret was applied and tied by (March 22, 1896). Extremely rare stamp on letter. (Image1)
