image 1856: 3 c. carmine St. Thomas gum, vertical pair on double rate internal letter dated 1861 from "FREDERIKSTED" to CHRISTIANSTED". The cover shows traces of ageing and the stamps have been lifted and replaced. The upper stamp is slightly defective. A very rare pair on cover.
