1901 US postal stationery card 1c used from Mayaguez to St. Thomas via New York, underpaid 5 centimes (= 1c) and getting a tax duplex h/s New York, marked "2" (cents) for double missing payment, with '04.11.1901' despatch dater and St. Thomas '27/11 1901' arrival cds. The card lightly creased but scarce, and well written up on album page.

1902 REGISTERED cover from Christiansted to Paris (redirected there) via St. Thomas and London (transit and arrival datestamps), franked 1898 4c. strip of three (pos. 3-5 with dot between T and I of VESTINDISKE on pos. 4) and 1900 'Coat of Arms' 1c. all tied "CHRISTANSTED 16/6 1902" cds, also bearing boxed "Anbefalet" h/s in black (Engström type 11, only known used in Christiansted) and boxed registration mark "Dansk Vestindien/R/No 0111" in purple (Engström type 10). THOMAS/2/4/17" c.d.s., with Bologna censor h/s and a US 2c. stamp on picture (uncancelled). This postcard dated "31 March 1917", the day when the Danish West Indies were sold to the U.S.A. and renamed to "United States Virgin Islands". (Image)
