Envelope addressed to Ceylon bearing French 'Siege de Paris' Yvert 37, 25c blue (pair) and Yvert 38, 40c orange (pair) tied by '2316' in dotted lozenge with adjacent Menton date stamp '4th Avril 73', boxed 'PD' endorsed 'via Brindisi' with transit and Galle/Paid and Colombo/Paid receiver in red 'Ap 28' on reverse. Very fine.

image 1877 Postal stationery envelopes 4c. grey-blue used from RAMBODA to Madura, India via Kandy in 1883, uprated (on the reverse) by four singles of 1883 QV 2c. pale brown, all tied by numeral "49" in oval of bars (Proud K1, Val. x 6) plus pen-strokes, envelope cancelled "49" and with "RAMBODA PAID/DE 6/83" c.d.s. (Proud PD3; Val. x 5), and on the reverse with Kandy "PAID" and Madura arrival datestamps. Envelope and adhesives toned and minor imperfections but still a scarce and unusual p/s envelope from Ramboda.

image 1902 Combination franking of Ceylon 1899 6c. rose & black and German Reich Germania 10pf. used on picture postcard (Tooth of Buddah) from Colombo to Hiltrup, Germany via Penang, tied by "DEUTSCHE SEEPOST/OSTASIATISCHE-/HAUPTLINIE/19 11" c.d.s., with Penang transit dater and Hiltrup '13.12.02' arrival c.d.s. alongside. Postcard with light traces of use and ageing but still good. An unusual franking.
