Canal Zone 1u, 2c ROSE, POS. 12 OR 58, Fine-Avg OG, with some adherence, both "PANAMA's" reading up. Left "PANAMA: 14mm long, large 1st "A" and last "A" dropped down; right "PANAMA" 13mm long, 1st and 2nd "A" is inverted "V", "MA" raised. Information from "Stamps of the Canal Zone" by William Evans, M.D. about 1916. Since only 26 sheets of 100 were overprinted (2,600 stamps), then no more than 52 of this variety ever existed. Reverse with hs certification "S.G." in purple (Stanley Gibbons) and (2) ms certification marks (Image)
