image 1875 (July): Great Britain 1873 1 s. green pl. 10, a vertical strip of three lettered RF/TF, used on 1875 double rate cover from Cobija to Guildford, England endorsed 'via Panama, per W.I. Mail to Southampton' tied by two bold strikes of the "C39" obliterator in black. The stamps originally cut on piece from the envelope and thankfully returned to their original position, reverse with Guildford arrival cds (Aug 12). Possibly the finest strikes known of this amazingly elusive Postal Agency and despite the obvious imperfection, an attractive cover and a very rare usage. (Image 1) (Image 2) (Image 3) (Image)

image 1878: Great Britain 1873 6 d. grey pl. 15, a used example lettered TI, on 1878 cover from Antofagasta to New York, tied by fancy framed gothic script "Franca" handstamp in blue with octagonal framed "10c. / CORREOS ANTOFAGASTA / 10c." handstamp alongside. Reverse with 'Lima / Pral.' transit cds in black (May 12) and, on arrival struck with 'New York / Due 5 Cents' handstamp (June 2) for incoming Ship Letter fee. The 6 d. adhesive with blunted perforations in the wing margin not detracting from the beautiful appearance and of no significance compared to the rarity of the cover. An exceptional cover of great beauty.rnProvenance: Collection Louise Boyd Dale & Alfred Lichtenstein, Harmers, New York, 17-18 Feb 1969, lot 285; Collection Andrê Bollen, DF, Zurich, 29-30 March 1984, lot 11546; Collection Jaime Ortiz-Patiño, Spink Shreves, New York, 5 March 2008, lot 2041.
