19th CENTURY STAMPLESS MAIL; Range on annotated leaves inc. 1849 EL to London with "RIO-JANEIRO" d.s. on front and rated '2/9'(d) and sent on H.M.S Adventure, 1850 EL to London ex Pernambuco and rated '8'(d) 1853/59 E/EL to Glasgow or Edinburgh with "RIO-JANEIRO" or "PERNAMBUCO" cds and London d.s. on rear and both rated '1/-', 1857 E to Genoa with framed "GB/1F60c" mark on front and rated '10' decimes. 1859 printed EL to France ex Pernambuco sent unpaid and with octagonal "GB/2FPK" (Salles 1.172) accountancy mark and Calais transit d.s. on front with London, Paris-Marseilles TPO and Montpellier cds and 1868 E to Oporto with (British PO in) Pernambuco cds on rear and with "300" reis charge mark on front.
