1864 'Escudito' 5c., narrow "C", used on folded letter from Buenos Aires to Salto, URUGUAY (Oriental) on the Uruguay River, tied by the blue oval handstamp "OM" (Oficina Maritima) which indicates that the cover was carried by ship on the Uruguay river, and on the reverse with Buenos Ayres despatch h/s. The stamp of fresh colour rose-red showing slightly cut margin at right, wide margins else, fresh and fine. (Image)
