1800 -FRENCH CAMPAIGN IN EGYPT. Envelope headed 'Le Commissaire Ordonnateur en Chef Sartelon' written from La Caire dated '9 Brumaire' (31st October 1800) addressed to Samanud with hand-struck 'La Caire' on face. The text reveres to the death of Villard at Boulac and the appointment of the Commandant of Samanud as his successor. A very fine item from the Napoleonic Occupation of Egypt 1798/1801. (Image)
