1915-16 Overprints on KGV Heads 1d carmine SG 67b Plate 3 complete forme of 30 from the top of Pane V [1-30] with ACSC-listed varieties on [1] & [7] plus several BSAP-listed varieties including Roller Flaws at L/R of R/H Value Tablet [9/15/21] but before appearance of Damaged Right Frame at Base [30], also Hollow Stop after 'W' [6] & Large Stop after 'ISLANDS.' [12], generally well centred, a few very lightly mounted but most units are unmounted, Cat £210+ for mounted singles.
1915-16 Overprints on KGV Heads 1d carmine SG 67b Plate 4 complete forme of 30 from the base of the left-hand pane [VII 31 to 60] with Wattle Line & Nick at Top of L/H Frame [31-32], Neck Flaw SG 67bd [37], Ferns [54] and 'RA' Joined SG 67be [60] plus overprint varieties on [32, 33, 36, 42, 46 & 50] (unit 42 with Broken Stop after 'S' that deteriorated to No Stop), a few units with hinge remainders otherwise very fine unmounted including all six abc strips, Cat £475+ for mounted singles.
1915-16 Overprints on KGV Heads 4d bright orange SG 70 Third Setting with Types acccbc at Base large-part forme of 29/30 - the first unit detached but present - from the upper-right of Plate 1 [R2 to 30] with early state of ACSC-listed variety Scratch from Crown to Head [11] but before appearance of varieties on [3] & [25], unmounted, Cat £120+ for mounted singles. Very scarce.
1915-16 Overprints on KGV Heads 4d orange SG 70 Third Setting with Types acccbc at Base complete forme of 30 from the lower-right of Plate 1 [R31-60] with early states of ACSC-listed varieties White Flaw at Base of Kangaroo's Foot [45] & White Flaw behind Emu's Leg [60] plus the BSAP-listed varieties Colour Flaw to Right of R/H Wattles [31] & White Flaw above Second 'A' of 'AUSTRALIA' [57], a bit aged & some perf separation/rejoining, Cat £120+ for mounted singles. A very scarce forme.
1915-16 Overprints on KGV Heads 4d bright orange SG 70 complete forme of 30 from the lower-right of Plate 2 [R31- to 60] with ACSC-listed varieties on units [38], [50] & [56] but before appearance of varieties on [31] & [45], Hollow Stops on [6, 12 & 18], some very minor pink adhesion at left & some very minor perf separation/reinforcing otherwise unmounted, Cat £120+ for mounted singles.

1915-16 Overprints on KGV Heads Single-Line Perf 5d yellow-brown SG 72 Third Setting with Types acccbc at Base complete forme of 30 from the top of the R/H pane [R1 to 30] with ACSC-listed varieties Shaved L/L Corner & White Flaw behind Kangaroo's Neck [15 & 19] but before appearance of the flaws on [19], mounted at the corners otherwise unmounted. A scarce forme: absent from Barry Gribble's collection.
1915-16 Overprints on Kangaroos First Watermark 2d grey SG 73 Plate 2 Third Setting with Types acccbc at the Base complete forme of 30 from the base of the right-hand pane [2R31 to 60] with Extra Islands around Tasmania [43] & White Flaw below 'W' of 'TWO' [60] plus unlisted varieties on [40] [44] & [54], variable centring, short perfs at right, 16 units are unmounted, Cat £540+ for mounted singles.
1915-16 Overprints on Kangaroos First Watermark 2½d indigo SG 74 Plate 1 complete forme of 30 from the top of the left-hand pane [1L1 to 30] with Frame Break above 'R' of 'AUSTRALIA' [L2], most units including the six abc strips are unmounted.
1915-16 Overprints on Kangaroos First Watermark 2½d indigo SG 74 Plate 2 complete forme of 30 from the base of the left-hand pane [2L31-60] with Thick Frame at Upper-Right [31], Scratch over 'W' of 'TWO' [32], Thick WA Coastline [43] & Retouch to Upper-Right of Value Circle [55], with full sheet margins at left & base and 'JBC' Monogram, variable centring, small fault in the margin at L/L & a couple of minor blemishes but most units including the monogram strip of 3 are unmounted. Ex Tom Belknap. [Only the KGV 1d & the Kangaroo 2½d from the first printings were issued with selvedge. In every other case, the margins were removed from the formes of 30. Superior to the similar forme of 30 - graded 'A/B' - that sold in our auction of 6.8.2021 for $10,480]
1915-16 Overprints on Kangaroos First Watermark 2½d indigo SG 74 Plate 2 large-part forme of 24/30 from the base of the right-hand pane [2R37 to 60] with Colour Spot East of Sydney [50], seven units with varieties of the overprint, with full sheet margins at right & base and 'CA' Monogram, variable centring, the second unit in the third row has a central stain, most units are unmounted. A key NWPI rarity.
There should be equal numbers of both monogram pieces but the 'CA' Monogram blocks are far scarcer & deserve to attract a large premium.

1915-16 Overprints on Kangaroos First Watermark 6d ultramarine with the Watermark Inverted SG 78a Plate 1 complete forme of 30 from the top of the left-hand pane [1L1 to 30] from the Third Setting with Types acccbc at the Base and Club Foot on Kangaroo [L25], variable centring & some short perfs, very fresh with 17 units including three abc strips being unmounted, Cat £9750+ for mounted singles.
An extremely rare forme, missing from most collections.
Barry Gribble's abc strip with the watermark inverted & two units unmounted sold for $1690. NB: without the overprint, a block of 30 with the Watermark Inverted would catalogue at $131,700 for singles!
1915-16 Overprints on Kangaroos First Watermark 9d violet SG 79 Third Setting with Types acccbc at the Base large-part forme of 29/30 from an unidentified position with the Overprint in Purple, light ironed-out horizontal crease across the central row, unmounted, Cat £1650+ for mounted singles. A rare forme.
1915-16 Overprints on Kangaroos First Watermark 1/- deep blue-green SG 81 Plate 2 complete forme of 30 from the top of the left-hand pane [2L1 to 30] with ACSC-listed varieties on units [6, 12, 13, 18, 19 & 20], overall gum-aging/toning, all but the four corner units are unmounted, Cat £1800+ for mounted singles. Another rare forme.

1915-16 Overprints on Kangaroos Second Watermark 1/- bright blue-green SG 90 Plate 2 complete forme of 30 from the top of the right-hand pane [2R1 to 30] with Islands in Gulf of Carpentaria and Break in the Coast of the Bight [R2 & 8] plus Hollow Stops on units [6, 12, 16 & 18], some minor gum-side blemishes including a light pink stain on the L/H units, unmounted, Cat £330+ for mounted singles. A very scarce forme.
1915-16 Overprints on Kangaroos Second Watermark 5/- grey & chrome-yellow SG 92 with Purple Overprint which is obvious from the face, block of 16 [R8-11/26-29] comprising four abcc strips, the first unit on the second row [R14] with Frame Break below 'E S' of 'FIVE SHILLINGS' ACSC 43(D)m, exceptional centring, unmounted, Cat £1500+. 1915-16 Overprints on Kangaroos Third Watermark 3d olive Die II SG 96a abc strip, well centred, very lightly mounted, Cat £440+.
The rather modest catalogue value - £110 x4 for an abc strip - is somewhat misleading. In a sheet of 120 stamps, there are only 15 Die II units, arranged somewhat capriciously across the lower half of the left-hand pane from the upper plate (Plate 1). Because of this arrangement, abc strips comprising three Die II units can be derived only from the first three columns of the lower left quarter-sheet. [Far superior to Tim Rybak's similar strip - a little aged with some faint toning - that sold at our auction of 26.4.2008 for $932]

1918-22 Fifth Setting on Kangaroos 3d olive Plate 1 complete forme of 30 from the base of the left-hand pane [1L31 to 60] with fifteen Die II units - including four horizontal and two vertical Dies I-II pairs SG 109ab - and ACSC-listed Die II variety Lone Yachtsman SW of WA [L55], generally very well centred, light bends affect most units but don't detract from the very fine & fresh appearance, a few units (only one of which - [L55] - is Die II) mounted otherwise unmounted, Cat £3475+ for mounted singles & Die I-II pairs.
