Cat No: July 6
1910 (July 6), Mülhausen (Alsace) Flight Meeting picture post card, franked by a 5pf green Germania tied by "Strassburg/(Els.) 2" 6.7.10 comb dater, the picture side showing three box planes above a field and barns, with German "Flight Meeting in Mülhausen in Alsace from the Habsheim flight field, July 1910"; interesting to note that the crowd, soldiers—and even the planes—have been added to the "basic" photo of the field and barns, and then reproduced photographically (look at those two horses—they'd have to be 50 feet tall!), Very Fine, a neat piece of early aviation history. Feldpostexped./des/Ostasiatischen/Expeditionscorps/36/4 b" receiver at lower left; some soiling to address side, a light scuff to face and a light corner crease at upper right, still a fun addition to any Boxer collection, F.-V.F.
