POSTAL HISTORY: 1950 (Nov 15) Korean War ultimate multi-national usage of an American Forces formular aerogramme from a South African serviceman with a British 3d tied by Australian 'AUST ARMY PO/214' cds used at Empire House in Tokyo, and it's entirely commercial, requesting spare parts for a radio!! An absolute cracker!
POSTAL HISTORY: 1951 commercial usage of formular aerogramme to NSW with 6d Oranges only tied by very fine 'UVONGO BEACH/20JAN51' cds, manuscript "T6d" indicating 3d shortpaid with Australian Postage Due 2d strip of 3 manuscript cancelled, horizontal fold through the bottom stamp. [Uvongo is in Natal, 126km SSW of Durban]
POSTAL HISTORY: 1953 commercial usage of Springbok 6d aerogramme to the Australian Broadcasting Commission with 6d Oranges tied by light but legible 'ENTUMENI' cds, minor creasing & blemishes. [The writer thanks the ABC for "the excellence of your programs...[we are] in the backwoods and wild bush of rural Zululand where white people are few and far between..." Entumeni, now in KwaZulu-Natal, is home to a major nature reserve]

PROVINCES - CAPE OF GOOD HOPE: Postal History really interesting group with superb 1787 entire to Stellenbosch & endorsed "Sieto"; 1794 defective but presentable entire from Keurboom Rivier to the Cape before inland postal services were established; very fine 1796 outer to "Graaffe Rijnet"; early undated outer to Zonnebloem; 1827 official mourning notice re death of the Duke of York; 1836 & 1840 outers from missionaries to London; undated defective letter signed "Saul Solomon [& Co]" printers of the famous 'Woodblocks"; two very fine outers with Crown h/s, the first from GPO to Tulbagh, the other 'POST OFFICE/STELLENBOSCH' with GPO arrival on the face; 1861 OHMS entire with free frank of "Charles Bell" who is credited with having designed the Cape Triangles; and a few others.
