1831 (Feb 7) entire letter from Italy with superb 'ANCONA' h/s (43x12mm) & '...1831/7 FEB' b/s in red, to Corfu with very fine strikes of the fancy-capsule 'CORFU/21 FEBRAIO/1831' arrival b/s and elaborate 'OFFICIO DELLA POST-GENERAL/[arms]/CORFU' h/s on the face, horizontal filing fold clear of the face. [In 1815, the Ionian Islands were ceded to Britain by the Treaty of Paris. Britain relinquished title to Greece in 1864, but retained rights in Corfu]
