1863, on July 18th a letter to Norfork/VA was handed over to the post office of Philadelphia. That cover became a unique postal history item of the CIVIL WAR. The address converts the cover into a historic treasure of the US Navy. It was meant for the chief of the US blockade fleet which operated off the Confederate States' coast. The address is: Captain A.L. Cadel, Fleet Captain, Flagship Minnesota, Norfork Va.
