This stamp ranks #3 out 27 ranked stamps on the SAN census. Given how difficult it is to find centered 1873-79 Official stamps, it is not surprising that only 2 copies have achieved the grade "90J" and only one ranks higher at "95J". Between Scott nos. O38 and O38a only five mint stamps have been submitted to the PSE during the past 20 or so years. As one would expect the best centered copies would eventually find their way to a graded certificate, the few stamps submitted speak to how scarce centered sound singles are from this issue. (Image)
