image United States, Fascinating File of Free Franks, 1781-1987, oversized mint sheet file with dozens of interesting items; three printed (with space to insert text) documents folded and sent to town Selectmen in Compton from the New Hampshire Treasury Office dated 1781 and two from 1786, each with embossed revenue stamps; 1884 land deed signed Chester A Arthur (secretarial) for 160 acres in Olympia Washington Territory; a pair of 1802 documents concerning receipt of monies from prominent men in New York including Samuel Osgood, Edward Livingston, Cornelius Roosevelt, Henry Rutgers, George Clinton and others with attractive embossed revenues; beautiful Scott 10 on cover with great cancel; 1843 bootleg letter written in Syracuse and used as a Drop letter in Albany; delightful bullseye cancel on crisp Bristol WI envelope with 1866 letter enclosed; 1899 large Advertising collar on cover with contents; 1834 printed letter to the public folded and sent to Dedham MA from the students of Harvard College writing that "we want no Southerners here"; extraordinary envelope to His Majesty Christian IX King of Denmark from the US President with a 3 1/2" Seal of the United States (sadly no contents or postal markings); 1826 partially printed folded letter with Treasurer of the US Thomas T Tucker free frank; 1816 letter to Supreme Court Justice Joseph Story from the Secretary of the Navy with free frank of Benjamin W. Crowninshield; Edith Roosevelt free frank from Oyster Bay NY; Hubert H Humphrey cut square pasted on sheet with magazine photo; Henry Kissinger autograph on color 8x10 portrait; four printed congressional free frank envelopes; printed Martin Luther King signature on Southern Christian Leadership Conference letterhead; also a few modern items including North American Wildlife and Greetings from America mint sheets, a few aerograms, a Challenger envelope carried to orbit, and more, Fine to Very Fine.
