(RE143) 84c Yellow Green & Black, Unused as issued, good color, Very Fine, this stamp is the Discovery Mint Copy of this issue, many of us believed that there certainly should have been some surviving mint examples of the 84c stamp, prior to 1966 Scott listed the mint stamps from this set but they were unpriced, over the next few years as more mint examples surfaced for the other denominations they were priced, since 1966 and afterward Scott has always listed this stamp but never priced, strangely there were no mint examples in singles or multiples in the massive Smithsonian Wine holding, the used 84c stamp is not common but they are readily available in the marketplace, in terms of market value, with only a single example known, this stamp would be similiar to the 1 7/10th issue of which the Smithsonian released three into the market which now catalogs at $32,500, after 80 years one might think there should be other mint copies out there somewhere but right now we are looking at this Unique example of the 84c issue, (ENV 20,000-25,000), 2022 PFC (Image)
