1896 (Nov. 9) envelope from Soochow to Kingman, Kansas, via Yokohama (11.20) and Tacoma, Washington (12.8), showing "Soochow Customs/Mail Matter" oval handstamp in blue, matching "Customs/Soochow" double-ring origin datestamp and black "Customs/Shanghai" double-ring datestamp (11.10) on reverse, and bearing on front Japan Prince Arisugawa 5s applied over the Customs Mail Matter handstamp and canceled by "Shanghai/I.J.P.O." c.d.s. (11.15), with transit and "Kingman, Kans./Rec'd." arrival c.d.s. (12.15) on reverse, Very Fine.

1897 (June 9) envelope from Soochow to Winchester, England, showing "Soochow Customs/Mail Matter" oval handstamp in red, "Customs/Soochow" double-ring origin datestamp in brown adjacent and "Shanghai" transit dollar dater (6.10, on reverse) also in brown, bearing France "Chine" 25c, canceled by "Shang-hai/Chine" c.d.s. (6.11), with "Winchester" arrival c.d.s. (7.19) on reverse, roughly opened in places at top just affecting the markings, otherwise Fine to Very Fine.

1897 (Nov. 25) envelope from Soochow to Christiania, Norway, redirected to Lillesand, showing "Soochow Customs/Mail Matter" oval handstamp in red, "Soochow" dollar dater in brown adjacent and "Shanghai" transit dollar dater (11.26) in blue on reverse, bearing France "Chine" 50c applied just over the Customs Mail Matter handstamp and canceled by "Shang-hai/Chine" c.d.s. (11.26), with "Christiania" c.d.s. (1.5.98) on both sides, some slight cover wear, Fine to Very Fine double rate to a Scandinavian destination and late use of the Soochow Customs Mail Matter handstamp.
