Transit Mail. 1840 (20 Mar.) envelope from Bogota to Carthagena "Per H.M. Packet" via Kingston "forwarded by R.L Sanchez" (deleted), showing oval-framed "bogota/franca" alongside "3" handstamp, both in red, and fine "carthagena" TR2 fleuron applied in purple at Kingston, upon arrival rated 2/1d. UK incoming Packet letter charge plus 11d. inland postage from Falmouth to London (the 1839 rate), the charge then erased by an Inspectors Crown and replaced with the January 1840 rate of 2/1d. inward Packet rate plus 2d. per ½oz. inland beyond Falmouth for a total of "2/3".
